Juice It!

So when I’m at home, my sister and I are all about juicing everything. If it can fit in a blender and has nutritional value, we will make a juice out of it. When I’m at work on the ships, it becomes much more difficult to be a juice junky. Even with a hand blender (which we’re not technically allowed to have onboard) access to fruit and veggies can be limited and we don’t have kitchens, etc etc. However, upon arriving to Tampa and perusing our local Publix, I discovered an absolutely magical line of juices. Suja Essentials are all juice, all natural, gluten/dairy/GMO free and incredibly delicious! I’ve since given up on juicing on my own and make a trip to Publix every week to stock up on tasty organic juices!!! If they sell them in your area, GET SOME!!! Going H.A.A.M

I feel amazing!! I killed my run and workout this morning, in excellent time. I had a few really tough runs last week that i struggled through but its all coming together this week. The 30 day challenge ended with me feeling fit and motivated, we’ve now started another 30 day challenge!! Going H.A.A.M on all my workouts, giving 110 percent and it feels sensational!!

I just wanna ride bikes!!

The weather has really been glorious the past few days, which of course makes outside training just the best thing ever!! A few days ago I went on a lovely road ride out to Sidney and back with an old friend. Pretty good time, about 5 mins a mile, a good place to start!! Ideally we will see that time drop in the upcoming weeks! We are going to try to plan a ride up to Comox and back, which is a pretty long trip so we would probably ride up, spend the night, and then ride back. I need to be doing more nice long rides if I hope to do well at the half-iron distance this summer!!

My visit to the physiotherapist went well. He does lots of IMS (intramuscular stimulation), which is probably my favorite and least favorite thing all at the same time. HE gave me some new excercises to do that will help me to not fall apart. The moral of this blog post is: DO WHAT YOUR PHYSIO SAYS……I’m so happy I have someone to put me back together when I start feeling broken.

Horses

No matter what else I have going on in my life and what my goals are, I’m always more at peace when there’s horses involved. I love to ride and compete and just be around them, There is something whimsical and magical about the bond you have with a horse, it’s unlike anything else. Being around horses is good for your soul. And it’s a great workout!! My lovely photog friend Jessica Hayward took some photos of myself and my lovely horse Dejah on a riding day!

I don’t know if you can ever truly capture the bond between horses and people, but Jess has done a fantastic job…
